Follower of Fashion

So I know that I haven’t actually blogged about anything in a while, OK quite a long while but this week saw another week of fashion being showcased in Bath as the city hosted another Bath in Fashion Festival http://www.bathinfashion.co.uk/

I got myself tickets to the Friday afternoon Designer Show the setting of which was the stunning Assembly Rooms, a suitable background to highlight the beautiful clothes. The Spring/Summer collections were on show and many of these were from various independent shops around Bath as well as a finale from Amanda Wakeley. Upon arrival the guests are greeted with  tea/ coffee or a soft drink and free biscuits (yay!! and their yummy homemade ones too) I saw that some people have goodie bags but I didn't get one Boooooooo!!!!!

My photography skills leave a lot to be desired and therefore out of a good nearly 50 photos only 12 were deemed of any use and even fewer acceptable for anyone else to see. However I got better with practise but there's nothing to show for the first few collections from Grace and Mabel
(http://www.graceandmabel.co.uk/index) and Prey (http://www.preyuk.com/) although the exquisite clothing often left me feeling rather bitter that I am a penniless student and therefore would never be able to afford their clothes.

As well as independent shops the designers featured in Debenhams also had a slot such as Jasper Conran, Julian MacDonald and Ben de Lise. With all my incessant picture taking I think that I may have been annoying the woman sat next to me so I decided to go for a slightly more sly approach, this did not work as I ended up with pictures of the back of the chair in front. Oh dear.

Although I do enjoy going to  various Fashion Shows I don't understand why there are lingerie catwalks,The Dressing Room ( http://dressingroombath.com) was one such occasion and unfortunately  for the poor model wearing the cream nightwear, well how can I put it "We can see your nipples love." I don't think that the bright lighting helped all that much either.

Another fairly bizarre occurrence happened when showing the Liz Cox collection. Liz Cox is a handbag designer so the models would come onto the catwalk to display the bags wearing black unitards and cat masks, yeah maybe you had to be there to believe it. (They were gorgeous bags though- the handbags not the models, they were pretty too though)
